My Journey in Learning Experience Design

My journey into learning design has taken me across three countries and two continents, designing training for students and professionals from more than ten countries. Along the way, I have worked with subject-matter experts, adapted training to meet diverse language and cultural backgrounds and achieved student satisfaction and customer service metrics.

Here is more about that journey:

At SWU LCI,  I learned how to adapt rich subject matter expertise into great course, whether it was from intern supervisors at Unilever, creative directors at JW Thompson,  or books such as the Culture Map or Never Split the Difference. During my tenure, I learned how to sequence topics, adapt whats essential, and design scenarios that apply what they've learned.

  • Developed more than 15 courses in workplace communication, which served over 200 students per semester

  • Maintained an average satisfaction rate of 4.5/5 for more than 5 years.

  • Designed cross cultural academic training that allowed more than 20 students to successfully study abroad at Juniata College.

  • Maintained 90%+ active student engagement throughout tenure through effective customer engagement

  • Contributed to growing center enrollment from zero to 100+ students, including organizing cultural events which helped overcame early sales challenges.

  • Onboarded and trained new staff to support team in continuing maintenance of business engagement KPIs

Today, I design role-readiness training for hospitality students entering customer-facing careers. I build blended programs and scenario-based eLearning that move learners from knowing to doing: diagnosing real performance gaps, designing targeted interventions, and building practice-based learning that gives students confidence on day one.

  • Designed blended learning programs preparing 200+ students for customer-facing hospitality roles

  • Built scenario-based eLearning in Articulate Storyline using ADDIE

  • Designed simulation-based assessments replicating real front-office and food-service performance
